Description
Sedona is a city that straddles the county line between Coconino and Yavapai counties in the northern Verde Valley region of the U.S. state of Arizona. As of the 2010 census, its population was 10,031. Sedona's main attraction is its array of red sandstone formations the most famous ones probably being Cathedral Rock, Courthouse Rock, and Bell Rock. The formations appear to glow in brilliant orange and red when illuminated by the rising or setting sun. The red rocks form a popular backdrop for many activities, ranging from spiritual pursuits to the hundreds of hiking and mountain biking.
Anyone who has gone to Sedona and visited the Chapel of the Holy Cross has seen "The House". You can't take a picture of the view at the chapel without seeing "The House" in the way of the view.
Also it was reported that since " The House" was built, the houses below it are now having water problems. So not only did it destroy a mesa, ruined the view from the chapel, and leaves this eyesore breathing down the necks of the neighbors, but it also is causing flooding problems. It has been listed for a cool 29 million in case you are interested in having millions of visitors stare at your home all day.
Needless to say, the house has caused a great controversy in Sedona. It is monumental unto itself but just look at how it destroys the scenic view. Who owns it remains a mystery. At various times Johnny Depp, Nicholas Cage, and Romanian doctors have been rumored to be the owner, none of which are true.
